Truth Be Told…

Our legislative and executive branches of government suck just about as much as our judicial branch. Pretty awesome huh?

no, I’m not going to bash our government, because honestly, as bad as things get here in the States, we’re always better off than just about the whole World, something i definitely do not take for granted. Let’s talk intelligently for a minute about the Hurricane Irene Disaster Relief Fund. For the THIRD time in only FIVE months, another government shutdown is looming…AGAIN. it doesn’t get much more dysfunctional than that. As if Congress’ approval rate could get any lower, i doubt that this constant and continuous bickering is helping anyone’s political case AT ALL. at this point, it’s definitely about who’s willing to COMPROMISE. I hear politicians HATE that word.

Those awesome communication skills we all were taught in general college ED courses definitely need to come into play. Yes our National Debt is at $14 trillion right now but as Gov. Chris Christy from New Jersey stated, “federal assistance for the victims of storms and floods should be beyond politics.” did I mention, that Governor Christy is a Republican. just thought that might be important information, for those agreeing with the spending cuts Republicans are trying to impose on the Hurricane Irene Disaster Relief Fund in question.

i am a Democrat, so yes i am biased and i do agree with the Democratic proposals on the Relief Fund, but all opinion aside, this Relief Fund is about helping people piece their lives back together, not spending cuts. We pay taxes so use them to help US, the people. folks are devastated on the East Coast and as our leaders, as our lawmakers, as our voices, somebody has got to be willing to lend an ear to those people and make some decisions FOR THEM and not for partisan goals.

That’s all. i don’t know how this is going to end, but if the government does shut down again, i doubt elections are going to be fun for any current Congressman. when this nation is pissed, we definitely don’t hesitate to shake things up. What do you think that last election was about?
